During the last five years UASM has undergone several strategic planning and self-evaluation exercises. As a result, a new mission statement was stated in 2003 and favorably reexamined in 2005. Affiliations and Partnerships

Besides EFMD, UASM belongs to the Social Enterprise Knowledge Network SEKN, a collaborative endeavour formed to address the need for generating social enterprise intellectual capital developed in the region itself, came about in the year 2001 through the participation of a group of leading Latin American business schools and the Harvard Business School in partnership with the AVINA Foundation. / / SEKN's mision is to "advance the frontiers of knowledge and practice in social enterprise through collaborative research, shared learning, participant-centered teaching, and the strengthening of management education institutions' capabilities to serve their communities."
