SPACE Research Centre of Bocconi University investigates the sustainability of value creation processes, by looking at roles and behaviours of firms and organizations and measuring their overall sustainability performance. SPACE aims at integrating traditional financial measures with social and environmental performance following a broad stakeholder management approach.
SPACE main research areas are:
- Environmental Management and Innovation (EMI)
- Social Entrepreneurship (SE)
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- Risk and Crisis Management (RCM)
Share markets and company financing, corporate restructuring processes; creation and spreading of value
FINDUSTRIA research centre's primarily focus is socially responsible investing.

Founded in 1990, SPACE research centre aims at investigating and disseminating specific issues dealing with the sustainability and stakeholder management. During the past years, several projects have been managed and completed, and competences have been structured and trained with the centre.
People in SPACE strongly collaborate with colleagues at the FINDUSRIA research centre, which is the research centre primarily focusing on socially responsible investing. Projects have been carried out such as the Finetica project, which focuses on finance and business ethics.
Among the others, the most important academic partners are: Copenhagen Business School, Corvinus University, Cranfield, Esade, Georgetown University, IMD, Insead, Lovanio, Warwick, etc.
The most important tool is the Social Statement, a managerial tool for managing and assessing the sustainable performance of the firm. Such tool has been developed by the researchers within the SPACE research Centre, under the direction of Professor Francesco Perrini.
