Solvay Business School - Université Libre de Bruxelles

International name: Solvay Business School

Description

One hundred years ago, our founder Ernest Solvay, defined the School mission as follows:

“The mission of the Solvay Business School is to train men and women who are capable of selecting, initiating and managing.”

Our mission remains unchanged, but it can be declined according to more specific axes relevant to our time:

1. Our aim is to “train through transformation”. We consider it part of our responsibility to participate in the transformation of men and women who follow courses at our School. Whether taking a short course or a long-term programme, our students and participants acquire much more than knowledge. They graduate from the Solvay Business School as different people, to their own benefit and that of their company or organisation.

2. We believe it is our role as an international business school to furnish society with talented men and women with a thesaurus of intelligence, in order to elevate and contribute to the long-term development of society. This can only be achieved through ensuring the highest possible level of excellence in teaching and research.

3. Lastly, we have set ourselves the objective of cultivating a European profile, through our own infinitely rich cultural component, but also via those aspects linked to building a more balanced, peaceful and economically prosperous world. It is this thought that lies behind our ambition to be “the most European of European business schools”.
